Breeze Post Mounted Installation

Breeze Post-Mounted Notice Board

Installation Instructions

The Breeze notice board is supplied with posts and Jubilee clips for securing the board to the posts. Horizontal traffic railing is pre-fitted to the rear of the notice board to provide the fixing points.

Before Installation

Choose a suitable position on firm, stable ground. Before digging, ensure there are no underground cables, pipes, drains or other services in the proposed installation area.

We recommend that installation is carried out by two people, due to the size and weight of the notice board.

Installation

  1. Position the posts
Determine the required position of the notice board and mark the locations of the posts. The posts are positioned behind the notice board, rather than at either side of it.
  2. Prepare the holes
Dig suitable holes for the posts. We recommend approximately 600mm deep, with sufficient width to allow the posts to be securely concreted into position.
  3. Position the posts
Place the posts into the holes and check that they are vertical, level with one another and correctly spaced to correspond with the traffic railing on the rear of the board.

Do not concrete the posts into position until you are satisfied that the spacing is correct for the board.

  4. Check the board position
With two people supporting the notice board, offer it up to the posts at the required height. The posts should sit behind the board, lining up with the horizontal traffic railing fitted to the rear.
  5. Secure using the Jubilee clips
Pass the supplied Jubilee clips around each post and through/around the traffic railing fixing points on the rear of the board. Tighten the clips evenly until the notice board is held firmly against the posts.

Where the board has a header and/or footer, these may also have traffic railing on the reverse and should be secured to the posts in the same way.

  6. Final positioning
Check that the board is level, centred and at the required height. Ensure all Jubilee clips are securely tightened and that there is no movement between the board and the posts.
  7. Concrete the posts
Once the position has been checked, secure the posts using a suitable Postcrete or concrete mix, following the manufacturer's instructions. Continually check that the posts remain vertical and that the board remains level while the concrete sets.
  8. Allow to set
Allow the concrete/Postcrete to fully set before placing any load on the installation or using the notice board.

Adjusting the Post Height

The posts can be cut down if they are longer than required. If shortening the posts, cut them from the bottom end, so that the cut ends are positioned below ground when installed.

Important

The posts must be installed firmly and securely with no movement. Movement in the posts, particularly during high winds, can cause the notice board to flex and may affect the alignment and operation of the doors.

Once installation is complete, check that all doors open, close and lock correctly and that the board is securely fixed to both posts.

Please note: The installer is responsible for checking the installation area for underground services and for ensuring that the ground and foundations are suitable for the size and location of the notice board.
